DIY Home: Year One Update
Well it’s officially been a year since we moved into our little house in the burbs. There is still so much to do and while the list of things I want to do with it is longer, more time consuming, and more expensive than I ever thought beforehand, I am pretty proud of all the progress we’ve made thus far!
We’ve ripped out old radiators, painted every available surface, ripped out the in-law suite in the garage, laid new flooring to make an office space, busted through a wall to access the backyard, put up an abundance of peel and stick wallpaper, got a new front door, put in a front walkway, and a TON of other tiny day to day projects that take forever but are impossible to quantify.
Not a single space feels ‘done’ to me. But what I’ve learned is that you live in process. Even if I finished an area and felt it was perfectly styled one day, the next it wouldn’t be. And that’s ok. It’s really about how it feels to be in those spaces. And making spaces feel good and function well is the whole Sort of Space ethos, even if they are constant works in progress.
